CITIES RECEIVE $145.3 MILLION
COUNTY RETURNS TOTAL $32.3 MILLION

The August distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from June business.  Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically.  The monies they reported this period represent sales from June 16th to June 30th and estimated sales from July 1st to July 15th.

The disbursement of $134,709,034 in sales tax collections was returned to  510 cities and towns reflecting an increase of $6,102,803 from the $128,606,231 distributed to 509 cities and towns in August last year.  The use tax disbursement of $10,622,885 was distributed between 374 cities and towns.

In county returns, 76 counties shared in a $29,754,320 sales tax disbursement.  The use tax disbursement of $2,509,595 was distributed between 73 counties.

The following list includes new sales and use tax rates for cities, towns and counties and their effective dates.
